Product Management · Transformation · AI-Assisted Delivery

Sarah Blegen

Every organization has friction it can't see. From regulated startups to global enterprises, I find it, fix it, and leave teams ready to own what comes next.

// About

At home in the middle of change.

I'm drawn to the part of a transformation most people would rather skip: the new system nobody has learned yet, the workflow that quietly slows everyone down, the decision being made without the data behind it. I learn the system quickly, make it clear enough to automate and document, train the people who will run it, and move on to the next strategic change.

Some of my best fixes started by simply watching someone work. At Lionrock, treatment plans kept running late, so I sat with one of our counselors and watched her process. She was clearing copied dates by hand. That one tiny, awkward step turned out to be the first snowflake. See how it snowballed into a 40% improvement in clinical compliance.

Today I'm a Senior Product Owner at TSI Incorporated, where I own about 95% of an enterprise transformation program and serve as Scrum Master on multiple teams. AI has become part of how I deliver that work, and I've taught my workflow to teammates.

My path runs through a regulated behavioral health startup, a global enterprise, and a regional bank. Different industries, one throughline: find what's slowing people down, fix it, and leave behind something others can run.

// The work

Experience

One company, one signature project.

  1. TSI Incorporated

    Senior Product Owner

I own about 95% of a multi-year enterprise business transformation and serve as Scrum Master on multiple teams.

    Signature project

    CRM requirements gap analysis

As the program moved from Salesforce Sales Cloud to SAP Sales Cloud, I ran formal workshops with sales and marketing subject-matter experts across the US and EU, then wrote my own requirements before ever seeing the vendor's list. Measured against their 194, I matched their depth and found 44 more.

  2. Lionrock Behavioral Health

Product Manager → Director of Information Systems

I owned product and information systems for a funded, angel-stage startup in a highly regulated industry, operating in about 99% of states. Promoted to Director, I retained my product management duties.

    Signature project

    Treatment plan compliance

Treatment plans were running late: counselors forgot, and the workflow was working against them. After watching a counselor clear copied dates by hand, I made those dates and error-throwing fields clear automatically, then built a compliance dashboard that accounts for each state's due dates. Clinical compliance improved 40%, measured against prior-year audit time and Joint Commission and state findings.

  3. 3M

Customer Account Management · eBusiness · Product Owner, Global Business Process Support

I owned key ecommerce and identity and access management (IAM) tools and standardized business processes for distributors and service centers around the world.

    Signature project

Global IAM and B2B ecommerce migration

A data migration covering 60,000+ users. I owned the Variant Configuration Tool and the IAM engine behind the distributor ecommerce site, which decided who could see which price books and products, by division and country.

  4. TCF Bank

Product Owner · now Huntington Bank

I owned products across banking platforms, strategic sourcing, and facilities management.

    Signature project

    Funds Availability

Funds availability decides when a deposit becomes money a customer can use, so this program touched every dollar of every customer at two mid-size regional banks holding $37 billion in combined deposits. I owned it from concept to pre-launch in 10 months: defining funds availability around new routing and account numbers during platform scoping, guiding testing, and serving as the primary contact for the FIS platform vendor. Float and holds were my accountability.

// How I work with AI

From a single chat to building with Claude Code in six months.

My own workflow, rebuilt in four steps. Each tool added something the last one couldn't do. The inputs, the prompts, and the judgment stay mine.

  1. Chats

    One conversation at a time

Where I started: simple individual chats, each one starting from scratch.

  2. Projects

    Shared files and instructions

I loaded architecture docs, requirements, instrument and software manuals, and a feature comparison list, then prompted them into domains, epics, and stories, plus should-be workflows and feature maps.

  3. Cowork

    Claude working on my computer

I built a full repository Claude can use to retrieve, update, edit, and manage files in a protected folder.

I use a Cowork skill for service-management builds, and Claude works alongside me in Jira and other applications as my copilot.

  4. Claude Code

    From direction to working build

This website was built with it, and I'm using it to plan Tell Me More.

These are my individual results on TSI delivery work, and I've taught the workflow to teammates. I cross-check ChatGPT and Claude against each other for quality, and backlog prioritization stays with me.

Personal Finance Planner

Seeing my finances clearly, decades ahead

I wanted to understand my finances more deeply. This tool allows me to track and understand my investments, and adds an interactive calculation database for retirement expenses and strategic stacking of income.

I can change the numbers in real time, adjusting levels, limits, and contributions to different funds, and watch the picture shift. It helps me plan the next decades of my life financially.

What's next: building it out in Power BI.

Not financial advice, and not a replacement for a professional financial advisor. A personal project; it makes no claims about actual returns or results.

Beans and Rice: From Bland to Grand

A pantry cookbook for the everyday home cook

Turning affordable, shelf-stable bulk ingredients into satisfying meals for everyday cooking, camping, and backpacking. Base recipes come in several versions, such as regular, no-power, and lightweight backpacking, with gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, and vegan adaptations.

It's my project end to end: format, purpose, audience, the gap it fills, and what goes on every page. I'm collaborating with one other cook and with backpackers.

Tell Me More

A conversation that helps job seekers find their story

Many people don't recognize their strengths until someone points them out. Tell Me More is an interactive AI tool that interviews job seekers conversationally, so they can answer in their own words. Unconventional questions draw out overlooked experience, specialties, and achievements, then organize them into a clear direction.

It uses career counseling methods and personality insights as context, not as formal career counseling; I'm not a certified or licensed career counselor or psychologist.

A free tool, now in process: defining use cases, personas, and requirements. A professional recruiter with his own agency and 56K LinkedIn followers has agreed to review it for feedback.
